ELI / SALC Winter Festival – Dec 2022

The season of Winter Festival is coming!
The ELI/SALC and SALC learning communities are hosting various events from December 12th (Mon) – 23rd(Fri). Come join us!


1. SALCer’s Event “Merry Memories & Bright” 

SALCでクリスマスを楽しみませんか。
スタンプラリーで4つのスタンプを集めたり、デコレーションを作るとそれぞれプチギフトがもらえます。
また、みなさんの好きなクリスマスソングや食べ物についてもお聞かせください!
1. Stamp Rally Event:

Let’s talk about Christmas in the SALC.
You can get a stamp card at the counter to start the event. Follow the instructions and collect stamps !
After collecting 4 stamps, you can get sweets at the SALC counter:)

2. Exhibition Event:

Let’s decorate the SALC with your own Christmas decorations.
You can use pens and papers available at The Gallery to make your own Christmas decorations 🙂
Come to the counter with your decorations, and you can get sweets at the SALC counter!

2. SALC Rainbow Forum presents Hatsumo-GAY

Celebrate the New Year and show your support for the LGBTQ+ community by writing traditional New Year messages in any language on our display. This is an interactive display for students to read, learn, and participate.

3. Swedish Lucia Celebration

Do you want to learn more about Swedish Christmas Events?

5. Feliz Navidad con el grupo de español

The holiday season is coming!
We planned present “Feliz Navidad con el grupo de español”.
Let’s enjoy singing a Spanish song and learning about Christmas cultures in Spanish-spoken countries.

6. SALC Workshop”Christmas Traditions in America”

It’s time to get into the holiday spirit because Christmas is around the corner! In this workshop, you will learn how Christmas is commonly celebrated in the US and some of the differences between Christmas in Japan and the US. I will introduce so general traditions and facts about Christmas in America, as well as some songs that you may not have heard!

7. Merry ChrisTEDmas

Why don’t you spend some time with TED this Chritsmas? In our community, we will watch “How we used Christmas lights to a war” and have a quiz about the video. We will set up Jenga while answering the questions. You can get a special gift if you complete the Jenga game!
